Deuteronomy 6:6-7

"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

Micah's Security Detail

Micah has a visible guardian angel in our house.  Her name is Ella.  She is ALWAYS watching over him.

She even prays for him!
"I don't like how high he is swinging."
"It's ok. The baths get better. I promise."
"high five"
"It's ok, Micah. Elmo's World is on!"

"Don't worry daddy, I got this."

"Momma, he has been crying! What took you so long?"

"Enjoy this now.  Cause tummy time is not all it's cracked up to be."

"Is the water temperature ok for you?"

Micah's Manners

So we have learned that Micah has no trouble asking questions when he doesn't understand something or needs more information.  He is so polite to always raise his hand and wait to be called upon.  It doesn't matter the time or setting.  What a sweet boy with manners...

"Excuse me, I know it's festive and all but I can't find my paci."
"Umm, excuse me, I don't seem to be wearing any clothes."

"I'm sorry, I understand I'm under weight, but do we have to wear horizontal stripes?"
"Pardon me, but does she exceed the weight limit on this thing?"

"I don't mean to be rude but can you move back a smidge out of my personal space?"

"I'm just curious, am I supposed to read these books in my bassinet?"

"I'm know I'm new at this, but shouldn't there be more water in here?"

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I love St. Patrick's day!  So in celebration we had green pancakes and green cupcakes.  And of course we dressed the kids up in homemade "baby legs".  (Disclaimer: I have an all new respect for photographers of small children.  Holy cow that was a task!)

This is the best we could get without one of them screaming.  Not a fan of pacis in pics but that is better than a wide mouth cry.
There is always time for a hug :)

I gave the hat to Ella and asked her to put it on.  This is what she does... (she is our little comedian.)

Sitting up group shot didn't work very well so we thought we would lay Micah down first but Ella decided to mock little brother.

We put Micah in the hat.  Between the first and second picture he inched his way out.  This boy is constantly on the move!

I love my little leprechauns!

Time to party!

Here are some pics of our first day home with Micah and Ella's "Big Sister" Party.

Discharged and ready to go home!
When we got home Ella immediately wanted to hold him.

When we brought Micah home from the hospital we wanted to be able to do something special for Ella to help with the transition.  After talking to some dear friends we decided to throw a "Big Sister" party for Ella.  She LOVED it.

We laid out everything for our return home.
With each gift she would look at Micah and say "tenk tu" (thank you).

Then it was time for cupcakes...

after
When Ella went down for a nap, so did we!!
Micah was as happy to be home as we were :)

Micah's Arrival

We are so blessed to have the arrival of Micah safe and sound!  There were so many things we prayed for specifically as we were walking in faith to seek God's best for us.  And as God is, He remained faithful!  I could write a book on the things we asked God for.  Some of the tops were:
1) We prayed Micah would come at a time that would be easiest for Ella. My water broke at 4:30am and Micah was here by 8:07am.  The entire time I labored Ella was fast asleep in her bed.  Since Ella sleeps till 9am every morning we were already at the hospital by the time she got up.  So she was able to wake up with her Papa with her normal routine.
2) With Ella's delivery and some medical interventions I still had a relatively fast labor - being my first.  Knowing that and how we wanted to have Micah naturally I knew there was a chance Micah could come within a few hours.  So one of my prayers was that my labor would not start at a time when Ryan was at work (especially since he has a 45 minute commute on a good day).  When Ryan called on his way home Wednesday I had begun having very mild inconsistent contractions and he was home WELL before any action.
3) When Ella was born she decided to fast for the first week of life, losing lots of weight very quickly.  That combined with some nursing complications I was told I would not be able to nurse (at any point).  So we began praying early on that God would take care of those complications we had before.  And again, God is faithful!  Micah is having NO problem eating!!  PRAISE JESUS!
4) One of the other huge things we began praying for was an early discharge from the hospital.  Having a little boy there are a couple more procedures to be done and Pediatricians make rounds during certain hours of the day.  So we prayed that Micah would come at a time when everything could get done and we could be home after 24 hours.  With a sweet little girl at home we knew we didn't want to be away very long.  When we put Ella to bed Wednesday night we both had a feeling we wouldn't be getting her up the next morning, and there were almost tears.  :)  When Micah arrived, it was not within the Pediatrician rounds for the day.  So we prayed hard that it could still be accomplished.  Yet again, God is faithful.  At 7am the next morning the Pediatrician arrived and accomplished ALL the tests, screenings, and procedures.  My midwife was in the middle of 3 other laboring mothers, but by 9am she had approved discharge.  So we were in the car by 11:30am (27 hours after delivery) on our way home!
I can't begin to explain how blessed we are and how faithful our Lord is!

But on to what you want to see... Here are some pics of our son and family!
