Deuteronomy 6:6-7

"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

Our Big Girl!

Ella and I were playing in Micah's room today after her nap.  Of course it's not really set up as a bedroom since he won't go straight in there.  So it's mostly a storage room with the big things... bouncy, stroller, play pen, etc.  Well a fantastic friend is letting us borrow their toddler bed for when we play "bed swap" and Ella goes to the toddler bed and Micah gets the crib.  Well the bed had been sitting next to the wall - just the plain frame.  While we were playing in there daddy came home from work.  Ella walks over to the bed and says, "ni-nite".  So Ryan goes and gets the extra crib mattress we've had and puts it on the bed.  We were just watching to see what she would do.  Man, she is such a big girl!  As soon as she climbed up on it I about cried.  Ryan and I looked at each other with the same words, "that makes me a little sad."  I'm so not ready for the toddler bed.

Then she needed a "ook" and "ni-nite" (blanket)
Time to practice getting in and out
Got to get it just right

She would sit up and say "mornin" which we have NEVER heard her say.
Ni-Night daddy

Then there was the fake "snoring"

Micah and Noah

We have been EXTREMELY busy between Ryan's job and church activities that we haven't had any time to make way for Micah.  So a couple weeks ago Papa and Ryan began "operation Micah's room".

After puttying, sanding, and cleaning the walls, the priming began...

Then the painting... (the color isn't this pastel - that's just the flash)

So the same weekend Ella is watching what is going on in Micah's room and decided that since we are getting ready for a baby she needs to get a baby.  This is when Noah becomes an active part of the family.  (Noah was my cabbage patch when I was little.)
Noah has his own seat at our table.
They play together in her room.

Noah takes his turn getting a diaper change.
He listens to our bedtime story.
"The quiet old lady whispering 'hush' ".  She was showing Noah how to "hush".
He prays with us.
Then it's time for bed.

Noah even goes to church to learn about Jesus.  And has some snacks, too.

And just the other night Noah went skating with us at our AWANA Skate Night.  He shared Ella's sucker.  He will be taking a bath soon in the washer.

So there are lots of things going on in our house.  We are certainly blessed beyond belief!

The Park

I'm way behind.  But what else is new?  So back at the end of January there was a very nice weekend amidst all the snow.  So we (like every other family in La Vergne) headed out to the park.  We had never taken Ella before.  So here is an account of her adventures...

First was the double slide so daddy could ride down with her...
See ya daddy!  I got this!!

Then she found the tunnel...

And the tunnel slide...

Next was the twisty slide with daddy...
Daddy, this hat has got to go!

Then with mommy...

Nothing like a day at the park to make for a fantastic nap time!!  :)
